An Eau Claire man is facing probation after reaching a plea deal on battery and animal abuse charges.
Branden Hadt was sentenced to one year of probation yesterday. Police say he beat his roommate last August over late rent. Officers who responded found a dog that appeared extremely underweight and covered in feces. Hadt pleaded no contest to the charges of disorderly conduct and mistreatment of animals in exchange for the dismissal of the battery charge.
