On Friday, October 4 th , 2024, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to the W6200 block of Town Hall Rd, in the Township of Brunswick, for a car vs bicycle crash. Upon arrival, deputies and EMS personnel immediately began performing life saving measures. After some time, the victim was pronounced deceased by the Medical Examiner. The victim is a 66 year old male from rural Eau Claire.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim and another individual were traveling eastbound on Town Hall Rd on their bicycles, when a vehicle, also traveling eastbound, struck the victim from behind. The identities of the involved are not being released at this time, pending family notifications. More information may be released next week. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Township Fire, Eau Claire Fire, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Eau Claire/Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office.
