Flags are at half-staff in Wisconsin today to honor the burial of a World War Two U-S Army Air Forces Sergeant whose remains have finally been sent home.
Sergeant Jack Hohlfeld was raised in LaCrosse and Trempeleau Counties before voluntarily enlisting in the Army. He and the members of his WWII Squadron were overtaken by Japanese Forces in 1941. Sergeant Hohlfeld was taken to a prisoner of war camp died about one year later. His remains were identified in May, and he will be buried in LaCrosse today.
