Email Ballot Case Heads to Appellate Court

A judge is not stopping the push to email ballots to disabled voters this year.

Dane County Judge Everett Mitchell yesterday refused to block his order that will allow local election managers to email ballots to voters who need a machine to read them their choices. Mitchell says it’s a case of disability rights, but some Republicans worry that allowing for emailed ballots will open-up an opportunity for fraud. Voters only have to self-certify that they are disabled. The case is now headed for the appellate court.
