Sunday Funday, Sunday Bus Day?

News | July 26, 2024 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy
Sunday Funday, Sunday Bus Day?

Advocates want Sunday bus service in Eau Claire.

The Chippewa Valley Transit Alliance and several other groups rallied at Wilson Park yesterday, demanding more bus service in and around the city.  Organizer Lynn Buske said a lot of people depend on the bus to get to work or get to the store, and without Sunday service many people can’t go too far. The problem is money. Eau Claire Transit managers say it would cost a lot to add Sunday service. Buske said state lawmakers should pitch-in, or create a regional transportation authority that would allow for tax increases to pay for the extra bus lines.
