Milwaukee’s last call hours are extended for some bars and restaurants during the Republican National Convention.
A state law passed this year allows establish, establishments to stay open and serve until 4 a.m. from July 15th -19th. Bar closing typically happens at 2 a.m. in Milwaukee. Some establishments are also bulking up security and staff on hand to handle the 50–thousand people expected for the RNC.
Every vehicle driving in certain areas of Milwaukee’s downtown will have to be screened by law enforcement, an announcement made by Secret Service ahead of The Republican National Convention. The vehicle screenings are manadtory for anyone driving in the soft security perimeter. At each check point drivers will remain in their vehicle, but will have to turn it off and pop the hood and trunk as law enforcement and a k-9 inspect the interior.
