Things are not yet back to normal at Ascension in Wisconsin.
The hospital suffered a ransomware attack back on May 8th, and has been locked out of parts of its network ever since. Ascension says doctors and nurses at its 140 hospitals and clinics have been affected. The hospital even called-in the FBI. Ascension this week said some doctors at some hospitals have some access to their electronic medical records. The system hack has forced doctors and nurses to go back to hand-written notes, and that has caused significant delays across Ascension’s entire network.
