The man who started a deadly Door County bar fire two years ago is heading to prison.
A judge on Friday sentenced Anthony Gonzalez to 15-years behind bars for the fire at Butch’s Bar in Sturgeon Bay that killed two people. Gonzalez originally admitted that he accidentally started the fire, but he changed his tune at sentencing. He told the judge he didn’t think his fire burned the entire bar to the ground. Two people who lived in the apartments above the bar died in that fire.
