Bird lovers in Western Wisconsin are celebrating World Migratory Bird Day. 

The Trempealeau National Refuge in the Village of Trempealeau had a birding festival on Saturday.  Trempealeau is located off the Mississippi River and officials say the refuge is “in a great location to provide habitats for birds that are migrating.”  They added that it provides visitors an opportunity to learn about bird protection.  The festival included presentations and bird watching, and also allowed visitors to watch the bird banding process.
