Several community members, pickleball enthusiasts, businesses, and city leaders attended the Pickleball Groundbreaking event held on Wednesday, May 1st, at Braem Park in Marshfield.
Parks and Recreation Director Justin Casperson coined the Pickleball Complex as the first phase or “bookend” of the overall park renovations. The new 12 – outdoor pickleball courts will be located where the old tennis courts once laid. According to Casperson, future park renovations will follow, including a new softball field, playground, shelter, updated bathrooms, and parking lots. “Pickleball will be another new attraction and sport for our community, and Braem Park is the perfect location,” commented Lois TeStrake, Mayor of Marshfield.
