Bus Driver Faces Possible Charges

The driver of the Eau Claire school bus that crashed on its way to Minneapolis may not have had all of his paperwork squared-away.

The Wisconsin State Patrol yesterday said it referred driver  Christopher Leubner to the St. Croix County D.A.’s Office for possible prosecution. Investigators are suggesting a misdemeanor charge of operating a school bus without the proper school bus endorsement. Leubner was behind the wheel when he smacked into the back of an oil tanker last week on I-94. A handful of the kids from DeLong Middle School went to the hospital to be checked out for minor injuries. Video shows a third driver cut-off the oil truck, which caused the crash.
