A man serving time in a Stanley prison is accused of trying to hire someone to kill a prosecutor.
Jay Conklin has been in custody since February for sexual assault charges against children. Officers say two inmates reported Conklin had asked them to kill the prosecutor who put him in prison. Law enforcement pretended to be one of the inmates’ cousins on the phone to record a confession. He’ll face 70 years for the new charges and will be in court in May.
