On Thursday, 03/21/24, at approximately 8:21 PM, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Nugget Rd and County Road O, in the Township of Otter Creek, for a single vehicle crash. A passerby called 911 after they had located a vehicle that had crashed with a single occupant.
Upon arrival Deputies attempted to assist the driver but were unable to due to the severe damage the vehicle sustained in the crash. Deputies attempted to extricate the individual while waiting for fire/EMS to arrive. Upon the arrival of EMS, the driver succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased driver was identified as a 44-year-old male subject, from Eleva, WI. Investigation revealed that speed and alcohol were likely factors in the crash.
No further information is being released at this time. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Augusta Police Department, the Osseo Rural Fire Department, Fall Creek Fire, Mayo Ambulance and the Eau Claire County Medical Examiner’s Office.
