The John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center is hosting the International Tennis Federation Tournament (Eau Claire J30) from Saturday, February 17 through Friday, February 23. This tournament will host 128 tennis players from around the world, representing 9 countries, including the USA.
This International Tennis Federation Tournament is one of a series of tournaments held around the world for successful national standard competitors. This type of tournament gives players the opportunity to compete against some of the best players around the world. Players in these tournaments have aspirations of playing professionally.
“This will be the fourth year we have hosted this tournament. This is one of the highest level tournaments that a Junior Level player (non-pro) can participate in,” Matt Boughton, Executive Director of the John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center, shared. “Most of these players are preparing to go onto the professional tennis tour,” Boughton added. “We continue to marvel at all the wonderful opportunities this facility has allowed us to witness,” said Derek White, President & CEO of the YMCA of the Chippewa Valley. “The YMCA of the Chippewa Valley is grateful to have the John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center and for its continual commitment to developing and growing the tennis community at the local, national, and international levels,” White shared.
