Australia is welcoming in the New Year.
Spectacular fireworks were launched from both the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House to the rhythm of special music at the stroke of midnight. Many boats are in the harbor to see this annual extravaganza of light and sound to ring in 2024.
Here in our part of the world, Times Square is expected to be packed this evening as people from all over the world come to New York to ring in 2024. There will be hours of entertainment as the ball drops, including performances by LL Cool J, Flo Rida and Megan Thee Stallion. Designated viewing areas will open in this afternoon. Mayor Eric Adams will also Sqbe on hand for the lowering of the crystal New Year’s Ball.
