The jury in a deadly 2019 arson case in Green Bay could not agree on a verdict.
A judge yesterday declared a mistrial in Marcelia Fonseca’s case because the jury was deadlocked. She was just 16 years old when her baby nephew died in a fire at her home. Prosecutors say she set the fire, but her lawyers argued a TV could have sparked the fire that killed the baby. Fonseca was taken back to jail after the judge’s ruling. Prosecutors will decide in December whether they’ll try the case again.
