A pair of Democratic lawmakers want to require restaurants to tell customers when they’re getting real maple syrup, as opposed to ‘breakfast syrup’ or ‘maple flavored syrup. State Senator Calder Roy’s and State Rep. Dave Considine say maple syrup is a vital part of Wisconsin’s farming history. Maple syrup producers in Wisconsin made over 400 thousand gallons of syrup last year, that’s worth almost 14 million-dollars.
