Sugar River Plan Could Sweeten Conservation Efforts

Dane County is planning to add hundreds of acres of land to the Sugar River Wildlife Area.

The county says it wants to pay 12-million dollars for 625 acres of land in Verona and Montrose. The plan must still be approved by the county board. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi says this is the biggest conservation land acquisition in county history.
