Wisconsin’s governor is once again talking about expanding child care funding.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday used his weekly radio address to highlight the specifics of his planned special session on Wisconsin’s workforce. The governor says the key to the plan is to restore 365-million dollars to child care providers that went away when the coronavirus emergency ended, as well as a paid family leave plan in Wisconsin.
The governor didn’t mention, however, that both plans are probably doomed. Republicans made it clear this week that they will not vote for anything the governor is asking for during next month’s special session.
