Governor Tony Evers is expected to call a special session of the Legislature on Tuesday.
A number of legislative sources reportedly say the Democratic governor wants to force Republican lawmakers to debate the issue of child care. Evers pushed for more child care funding in the state budget but the GOP-controlled budget writing committee removed it this past spring. He said last month that he was considering a special session to pass child care funding.
