Milwaukee’s crime stats are a tiny bit better so far this year.
The city’s police department yesterday released the numbers for the first six months of 2023. Those numbers show fewer murders, 74m but the numbers also show non-fatal shootings are on pace for another record year. Overall, Milwaukee Police say, violent crimes and property crimes are down 13-percent. Still, Milwaukee’s mayor says there are far too many shootings, and far too many crimes in the city. Milwaukee has set a record for homicides each of the last three years. It remains to be seen where Milwaukee’s murder numbers go this year.
