The northern lights could be visible in the skies over Wisconsin and more than a dozen other states this week.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute is predicting high activity of the aurora borealis on Thursday across Canada and much of the northern U.S. The best time to see the northern lights will be from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. local time, and the best place to see them will be in rural areas away from the city lights.
