Eau Claire is moving ahead with the Dewey Street Bridge replacement.
The city council last night voted to replace the century-old bridge, rather than renovate it. A new bridge will cost just over 14 million-dollars, but Eau Claire will only have to pay about four-million dollars of that. The Dewey Street Bridge isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. City engineers say it will be at least 2026 before work could start on a new bridge.
