There could be some changes to the plan to send more money to local governments in Wisconsin.
An Assembly panel will meet this morning to once again talk about the Republican shared revenue plan. Governor Evers yesterday said he is negotiating the proposal with lawmakers, but didn’t give any specifics. The chief sponsor of the plan in the Assembly, state Rep. Tony Kurtz, says there is some ‘wiggle room’ in the plan. The Democratic governor has said getting more money for local governments is one of his top priorities, but he doesn’t like the Republican plan to force spending requirements and spending restrictions in exchange for that new money.
