Wisconsin lawmakers are looking to end the state’s requirement that state tourism officials give away cheese.
A plan that is up for a vote in the State Assembly today would change the state law that requires the Department of Tourism hand out cheese at Wisconsin’s tourist information centers. The state no longer operates those centers. The proposal would also repeal the requirement that Wisconsin feature its famous citizens in state tourism ads.
