Governor Tony Evers is setting the record straight on the state’s legal fight against Obamacare.
Evers sparked confusion during his State of the State address on Tuesday when he said he directed Attorney General Josh Kaul to withdraw from a group seeking to overturn the federal health care law.
Republican lawmakers slammed Evers, saying he was breaking the law by issuing that order. On Friday, Evers said his intention wasn’t to order Kaul to break the law. Kaul’s office has said it plans to get approval from the Joint Finance Committee to withdraw from the legal battle.
