There is a plan at the Wisconsin Capitol that would allow people to carry a gun inside a school.
State Rep. Scott Allen is looking for lawmakers to sign on to the plan. Allen says the idea is to allow local school boards to set their own rules about guns in school. He says the idea came from Germantown’s school board which asked him to change Wisconsin’s concealed carry laws. Allen says schools are ‘soft targets’ for mass shootings, and says his plan would allow local schools to change that. Even if Allen’s plan makes it through the legislature, it’s unlikely Governor Evers would sign it into law.
