There is a lot of support for the Brewers, and just about everybody wants to keep them in Milwaukee, but not everyone is happy with Governor Evers’ plan to do that.
The governor yesterday announced a plan to send the team nearly 300 million-dollars from the state’s record surplus to pay for long-term maintenance projects at American Family Field. A lot of taxpayers, and some conservative groups in the state. Don’t want to see hundreds of millions of dollars in public dollars go to a private business. The top Republican in the Wisconsin Assembly, however, took issue with the governor’s surprise announcement. Speaker Robin Vos said the governor is trying to dictate how a stadium funding deal will work. Vos said that’s not a very good start.
