Wisconsin’s race for governor was the most expensive in state history.
A new report from Wisconsin Democracy Campaign puts the total price tag for last November’s race at 164 million-dollars. That includes the 42 million-dollars Governor Evers spent and the 28 million-dollars Tim Michels spent. The rest of the money came from outside groups. The report says Democratic groups were the biggest spenders in the race. The 164 million-dollars spent shattered Wisconsin’s previous record of 93 million-dollars spent on Governor Evers’ first race in 2018.
