Republican lawmakers in Madison are open to the idea of new safe water regulations, specifically for so-called forever chemicals.
State Senator Rob Cowles yesterday said he intends to push for PFAS regulations in the state budget. Wisconsin currently doesn’t have any. A lot of environmentalists and conservationists are worried the PFAS chemicals, commonly found in firefighting foam, may be poisoning the state’s rivers, lakes, and streams.
Governor Evers has said setting new PFAS guidelines is one of his biggest priorities.
