City leaders in the Fox Valley are the latest to want Amtrak service in Wisconsin.
The mayors in Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Kaukauna, Menasha, Neenah, and Fond du Lac this week all said they want to see a train connect their cities with Milwaukee. Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich says connecting the New North with Milwaukee would also connect the area with the rest of the country. He says the Fox Valley would benefit from Amtrak service. No one, however, is saying how much the Amtrak line would cost or just how quickly it could be built.
