There could be some movement on the push to send more state money to local governments in Wisconsin.
Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu on Tuesday said lawmakers need to be aware of the pressure that inflation is causing across the state. He said inflation is hurting families, but he also said it’s putting pressure on local governments. LeMahieu wants to change the tax code to help families, he didn’t say just what he’s willing to do to help local governments. Democrats at the Capitol, and many local leaders across the state, are pushing for more state money for local governments. They say they need help in keeping-up with rising costs.
