Area energy providers Xcel Energy, and Eau Claire Energy Cooperative have said they expect to
have power restored to the majority of customers, who have no damage to their mast, by
midnight tonight.
Crews from both companies have had working around the clock to restore power to the thousands of Eau Claire residents impacted by this week’s winter storm which brought heavy wet snow, high winds, and downed trees.
“We are so grateful to Xcel Energy and Eau Claire Energy Cooperative for their hard work and
dedication in restoring power to residents” said Eau Claire County Emergency Management
Coordinator, Tyler Esh. “It has been a difficult time for many in our community, and we are
relieved to hear that full power is expected to be restored very soon. We thank the crews for
their tireless efforts in this time of need.”
