The state of Wisconsin says don’t recycle your Christmas lights.
The DNR yesterday put out a list over everything that can, and everything that should not be recycled this holiday season. The list is pretty similar to the list of what can be recycled all year long, including cardboard, paper, and aluminum cans. Some wrapping paper can be recycled, as long as there’s no glitter or foil. The DNR says keep Christmas lights out of your recycling because they get caught in the recycling machinery and cause problems at recycling plants.
