An internal review of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections reveals that staff racked up 50-million-dollars in overtime in 2018.

The Wisconsin State Journal says that amount for overtime hours last year was an increase of seven-million-dollars from 2016.  Dodge Correctional, Waupun and Oshkosh Correctional logged the highest amounts of overtime.  Staffing vacancies are the major reason overtime is necessary.
