Add Rice Lake Schools to the list of schools in Wisconsin that are not allowing transgender name changes at school without permission.
The school board there approved a policy last night that requires a parent to sign-off before a student can change their name at school. School board president Keven Jensen says the policy is not new, but it does formalize the process that’s been in place for years in Rice Lake. A handful of LGBTQ advocates and parents turned-out last night to oppose the change.
