One of Madison’s Democratic lawmakers says President Biden got it right by ordering pardons for marijuana possession charges.
State Senator Melissa Agard, who is one of Wisconsin’s biggest supporters of legal marijuana, yesterday said pardoning people convicted of federal possession charges “can begin to right the wrongs of our nation’s outdated and inequitable marijuana policy.” Agard has unsuccessfully pushed for legal marijuana here in Wisconsin for years. She says more changes are needed at the federal level before the state will be able to get there.
