The last case against the Missouri man who killed two Shawano County brothers is over.
Garland ‘Joey’ Nelson pleaded guilty yesterday to federal mail fraud charges in connection to the cattle rustling case that ended with Nicholas and Justin Diemel’s death back in 2019. Nelson pleaded guilty last week to the brothers’ murders, he is serving a life sentence for that crime. Prosecutors say Nelson promised to care for and then sell the Diemel brothers’ cattle, but he didn’t. When the brothers demanded payment, Nelson killed them then tried to hide their bodies.
