The Democrat running for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin is facing new questions about some of his old tweets.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel yesterday reported on a story that found Mandela Barnes’ tweets about the 2016 presidential race and the 2017 shooting at a Congressional baseball practice. Barnes called former President Trump a “Russian spy,” and said New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was “his president.” He also tweeted that Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise [[ skall-EESE ]] “took one for the team” when he was shot during that Congressional baseball practice. Barnes’ campaign says people shouldn’t read too much into the old tweets.
Republican Senator Ron Johnson says Barnes’ tweets speak for themselves.
