A new judge will hear Lily Peters’ murder case.
The defense last week used its exemption to get a new judge in the case. A 14-year-old, reported to be her cousin, is looking at homicide charges after police say he beat, strangled, then sexually assaulted her back in May. No one is saying exactly why the defense wanted a new judge. The defense is fighting to get the case moved to juvenile court. There’s a hearing on that scheduled for Thursday.
