Winter gas can now be sold in Wisconsin because of a refinery fire in Indiana.
The EPA issued a waiver for four Midwestern states, including Wisconsin following last week’s fire at the refinery in Whiting, Indiana. That fire knocked the plant offline. The EPA’s move will allow refineries to make winter-blend gas, which is easier to make, in order to keep up with demand. Gas Buddy says there may be some price increases because of the fire, but there’s no guess as to how much the price may change.
