The Republicans who control the Wisconsin legislature aren’t on the same page as the governor over the state’s opioid settlement plan.
The legislature’s Joint Finance Committee yesterday paused Governor Evers’ opioid spending plan. Republicans say they want some improvements, the governor says the delay is unacceptable. Governor Evers’ plan would spend huge chunks of the state’s 31 million-dollar settlement on new buildings and tribal communities, while spending just a few million-dollars in treatment and recovery.
