From Full Steam Ahead to “Off The Rails”

It is the beginning of the end of the investigation into Wisconsin’s 2020 presidential election.

Assembly Speaker Robin Vos fired former Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman on Friday, saying Gableman initially did a good job, but then ‘kind of got off the rails.’ Gableman looked into inconsistencies and questions about the 2020 election, but was never able to answer some of those questions because of opposition from the mayors in Green Bay and Madison. Gableman became an open critic of Vos, and endorsed his opponent in last week’s primary.

In terms of cost, the price tag for the investigation into the 2020 election in Wisconsin is likely going to continue to grow.

There are several lawsuits surrounding the Gableman investigation that have yet to be settled. There will be costs for those going forward despite Gableman’s firing. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos fired Gableman on Friday. So far, the investigation has cost more than a million-dollars including over 250 thousand-dollars in fines in open records cases.
