The man who ran down three Chippewa Valley Girl Scouts will not get a new trial.
An appeals court yesterday rejected Colton Treu’s request for a new trial. He pleaded guilty to running down the three girls and one of their mom’s back in 2018. He claimed his lawyers didn’t tell him enough about the plea, and told the judges that he wanted his trial moved out of Chippewa County. The appeals court said any mistakes were on Treu’s part, and not his lawyers. He’s serving a 54-year sentence for the girls’ deaths.
