WI Lawmakers Set Settlement Money Plans

Where to put the money?

Wisconsin is looking to spend a big chunk of its opioid settlement money on new buildings and various projects. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday unveiled its plan to spend 31 million-dollars from the national opioid settlement. The biggest chunk, 11 million-dollars, is earmarked for ‘two or three’ capital projects. Another six million has been directed toward the state’s tribes.

DHS is looking to spend just three-and-a-half million-dollars on treatment and rehab. Wisconsin lawmakers have to sign off on the proposal.
