It’s music season here in the area that loves it’s summer shows. On that note, local authorities are issuing the following information for those arranging rides and transportation to and from the Jam grounds:
The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office recognize that taxi, Uber and Lyft drivers are valuable partners when it comes to getting fans to and from the Country Jam music festival quickly and safely. However, we are also faced with the daunting task of controlling thousands of vehicles coming into and out of the festival area on roads that were designed and built to handle a few hundred cars each day.
To help ensure an orderly flow of traffic into and out of the festival, taxi, Uber and Lyft drivers will be required to obtain a windshield sticker from the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office. This is the same procedure that was used last year. The stickers are free of charge and can be picked up during normal business hours at the front desk of the law enforcement center. Drivers should be prepared to show their driver’s license when picking up their sticker.
At closing time, when traffic is at its heaviest and traffic into the area of the music festival is restricted, only taxi, Uber and Lyft drivers with a windshield sticker will be permitted past the check point at Ferry Street and Short Street. This is the only route into the festival area at closing time.
