For the second year in a row, University of Wisconsin-Stout teams won first and second place in the annual Flexible Packaging Association Student Design Challenge.
Packaging students worked to find flexible packaging solutions by improving a current package, developing a new package, providing easier options for storage or shipping, reducing waste and creating a better consumer experience.
Student Design Challenge winners are:
- First, Pistachio Pal Package: Ben Boie, Thorp; Aria Elfering, Kenosha; Payton Klaslo, Gurnee, Ill.; Aaron Kurschner, Sun Prairie; and Connor Walechka, Minnesota City, Minn.
- Second, Microwavable Ramen Pouch: Ethan Myers, Pleasant Prairie; Riley Runnels, Cushing; Hayden Zachgo, Fort Atkinson; and Hannah Zastrow, Spencer.
Myers, Runnels, Zachgo and Zastrow also received an honorable mention for their “Vetchables” Flexible Veggie Tray.
