The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a structure fire Sunday afternoon in the 600 block of Water St.
A bystander across the street from the residence saw smoke coming from the roof of the structure and called 911. The first arriving fire unit found a 2 story wood-frame duplex with smoke showing from several areas of the attic. Crews quickly made entry and proceeded to the 2nd floor to access and extinguish the fire. As the fire was located, additional crews performed a search of the structure, and ventilated the roof.
The building was found to be unoccupied. No injuries were reported and the fire is currently under investigation.
