It’s looking more and more likely that the city of Eau Claire will ask for a tax increase this fall.
The city council last night said it wants to move forward with a referendum on the November ballot. No one is yet saying how much the city will ask for, or just what the tax hike would pay for. The city’s move comes as Eau Claire Schools are considering their own tax increase question this fall. Polls show there’s enough support for both. Councilman Joshua Miller says the city cannot wait another year.
