La Crosse County says it’s changing its mowing strategy to help the butterflies.
The county yesterday said it won’t mow the grass along county highways until October. That’s when the county says monarch butterfly season ends. The plan is part of an effort by the state’s Department of Transportation to increase monarch butterfly habitats.
